Amerigear Couplings
Application: Designed to meet the requirements of vertical shaft applications, with shaft diameters up to 10.25 inches. Capable of compensating for all three types of misalignment (angular, parallel, and axial). Description: The Amerigear FV Series flexible coupling is designed with a bolted center flange to facilitate installation and alignment. The floating sleeve assembly is supported by a support plate and a thrust button inserted between the two coupling sleeves. The optimal spacing between the meshing gears allows for relatively high parallel misalignment capacity. Application: Used in applications where peak torque or high shock loads exceed the normal maximum starting torque. Coupling halves are mounted on one or both sides of a shear pin assembly to compensate for all types of angular misalignment and axial displacement. The shear pins are designed to fail at a predetermined value to protect the connected equipment from damage. Description: The Amerigear FPH and FSPH Series shear pin couplings feature a shear assembly bolted between the flanges. The shear assembly consists of two fully machined plates, two lubricated and sealed angular contact thrust bearings, a retaining ring, retaining bolt and pin, shear pins, and setscrews.
