Amerigear Mill Spindles

  • Provides maximum torque transmission under severe shock load conditions, while still operating effectively at relatively large misalignment angles.
  • Gear components are manufactured from medium carbon steel and forged alloy steel, with heat-treated gear tooth surfaces. The hub gear teeth are fully crowned to ensure maximum torque transfer with minimal backlash.
  • The one-piece molded lip seal is designed to operate under misalignment conditions, providing the most effective sealing performance: retaining lubricant inside and preventing the ingress of dust and contaminants from the outside.
  • All shafts are designed so that the contact point of the thrust button lies precisely on the centerline of the gear mesh. This allows for ball-and-socket-type motion, rather than sliding motion that would occur if the contact point were located on the thrust plate.

CENTAFLEX-A constant velocity driveshafts are available in various lengths to adapt to your needs and installation requirements. The highly flexible CENTAFLEX-A driveshafts are particularly well suited for use in marine, industrial, energy, and rail applications. The CENTAFLEX-A is a high-performer with high torsional elasticity. Built to damp torsional vibrations and shock loads, the CENTAFLEX-A element can compensate considerable axial, radial, and angular misalignments. Available in thin wall steel tube, carbon-fiber or glass-fiber designs, and with a split element option, the CENTAFLEX-A is easy to install and maintain with minimum effort. The electrically-insulating and thermally-resistant silicone element option offers a reliable, fail-safe, backlash-free transmission of high torques where needed.

CENTAFLEX-ACV is a highly flexible constant velocity driveshaft, ideal for the connection of marine gear output flanges to propeller shafts, and for applications with considerable angular deflections. The CENTAFLEX-ACV offers torque transmission via a double cardan driveshaft featuring a CV joint on one side and a highly flexible rubber element on the other. Ideal for marine use, a self-aligning thrust bearing transmits propeller thrust to the boat hull. Specifically designed to reduce noise, vibration, and shock, the CENTAFLEX-ACV damps torsional vibrations while offering electrical insulation as well. The CENTAFLEX-ACV tolerates angular deflections of up to 3 degrees. This driveshaft is easy to install and can be mounted with minimal effort thanks to the easy-to-use clamping hub.

Model J Series U-joints use only high-wing bearing cap design. Developed for operation misalignment at high angles up to 15º. Bearing and seal design resists lubrication loss and contamination. Ideal for use in severe atmospheric conditions.

Application: Meets the requirements of all standard applications for shaft sizes up to 10.25 inches in diameter. Capable of compensating for all three types of misalignment (angular, parallel, and axial). Description: Designed with a bolt-on center flange to facilitate easy installation and alignment. The optimized spacing between the meshing gears allows for high parallel misalignment capacity. The flanged sleeve design minimizes the distance between bearing housings, making shaft alignment easier. Additionally, the hubs of the 200 Series are designed to accommodate larger shaft diameters.

Application: Designed to meet the demands of harsh operating conditions and accommodate large shaft sizes up to 49 inches in diameter. Primarily used in tandem pairs connected by an intermediate floating shaft, or individually in conjunction with a driving or driven shaft supported by a self-aligning bearing. When used individually, it only compensates for angular misalignment. Description: Shares the same basic design features as the FS Series (sizes 200 to 207), but offers an angular misalignment capacity of ± 3/4°. Major components are fully machined from medium carbon steel.
