The shear pins are designed to fail at a predetermined value to protect the connected equipment from damage. Description: The Amerigear FPH and FSPH Series shear pin couplings feature a shear assembly bolted between the flanges. The shear assembly consists of two fully machined plates, two lubricated and sealed angular contact thrust bearings, a retaining ring, retaining bolt and pin, shear pins, and setscrews.
