- Provides maximum torque transmission under severe shock load conditions, while still operating effectively at relatively large misalignment angles.
- Gear components are manufactured from medium carbon steel and forged alloy steel, with heat-treated gear tooth surfaces. The hub gear teeth are fully crowned to ensure maximum torque transfer with minimal backlash.
- The one-piece molded lip seal is designed to operate under misalignment conditions, providing the most effective sealing performance: retaining lubricant inside and preventing the ingress of dust and contaminants from the outside.
- All shafts are designed so that the contact point of the thrust button lies precisely on the centerline of the gear mesh. This allows for ball-and-socket-type motion, rather than sliding motion that would occur if the contact point were located on the thrust plate.

This option allows the adapter at the pinion end of the pinion shaft to remain in place when replacing the gear ring, making maintenance faster and more convenient.
