Application: Used in applications where peak torque or high shock loads exceed the normal maximum starting torque. Coupling halves are mounted on one or both sides of a shear pin assembly to compensate for all types of angular misalignment and axial displacement. The shear pins are designed to fail at a predetermined value to protect the connected equipment from damage. Description: The Amerigear FPH and FSPH Series shear pin couplings feature a shear assembly bolted between the flanges. The shear assembly consists of two fully machined plates, two lubricated and sealed angular contact thrust bearings, a retaining ring, retaining bolt and pin, shear pins, and setscrews.

Application: Primarily used in tandem pairs for vertical installation, connected by an intermediate floating shaft, or used individually in conjunction with a driving or driven shaft supported by a self-aligning bearing. When used individually, it only compensates for angular misalignment.
