SM shaft type 2

This optional shaft configuration features a replaceable gear ring at both the roll end and the drive end. The gear ring is connected to the adapter via a tight-fitting spline, using a flat root side fit engagement.

The gear ring is held concentric with the adapter by precision-machined pilot surfaces at both ends of the spline engagement.

If the gear ring is damaged for any reason, it can be replaced in significantly less time than it would take to replace a sleeve with an integral gear, and it is also much more cost-effective.
