1952 DCM Dining Chair by Charles and Ray Eames for Evans / Herman Miller with Rare UpholsteryThis is an Eames DCM Side Chair, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1946. This early example was manufactured circa 1952, and it appears to be a late Evans early Herman Miller production. We believe this due to the presence of the round connectors on the back (which are considered part of the early Evans production), while the chair has a HM Foil Label. As there was a transitional period, this places production during that time around

who purchased this from an employee sale

The model number is 666 WSP

and is 19 inches deep

produced in 1965 by Gordon Bunshaft for the interior of the Chase Manhattan Bank headquarters

Its design is minimal in geometry with an elongated hexagonal top and two tapered vertical slab legs

which is where Knoll had their showroom during the 1960s

Condition overall is very good to excellent with some wear from use

and we have several chairs available for purchase

There was originally only version in production before the design was chosen for the Four Seasons restaurant

Each chair measures 37 inches tall

these would have certainly been used indoors

The third and fourth drawer have a height of six and three-quarter inches
