Chateau Batailley 1977A vintage sadly remembered as the worst in the decade. Recently though some 1977's have been a surprise and showing quite well. Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle. Abv& not stated. Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level top shoulder.
Owned by the Brunier family this well known Chateauneuf goes from strength to strength
The 1998 vintage was an excellent one for the wines of Saint Emilion

The vines themselves are situated between 1275 and 1500 meters adding cool sea breezes to the sunshine

This is a decent bottle
still some tannins

This bottle was a wonderful surprise

The extra bottle age adding to the complexity and softening the tannins
