Julius Vom Hofe -- Leonard Mills 3" Raised Pillar Fly ReelFor sale here is a Julius Vom Hofe Leonard Mills Model 44 raised pillar fly reel in good original condition. Aluminum and hard rubber construction. 3 inch diameter, measured pillar to pillar. No cracks in the hard rubber. Good click but the spool rubs while winding, which needs to be addressed by a reel mechanic. The reel foot is full length and unmolested. The on off click switch works fine. Stamped "Leonard Mills" on headplate. SPOOL RUBS. NEEDS

Serial #40518 built in 1965
Comes with its red and cream Hardy zippered case

Includes the original bag with stiffening dowel as well as the original tube with brass fittings
This rod is amazing
Original four compartment bag and tube with label
nicely blued and adequately strong
The keeper ring has been broken off although the strap is still there
I would guess it's from 1951-1954
