d'Arenberg Ironstone Pressings 1993About the wine The name derives from granite known as Ironstone which litters many vineyards in the McLaren Vale. Much was removed in the late 1880's and used for some of the d'Arenberg buildings. 1993 was a mixed vintage, but many good red wines were produced. Typical blend, Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre. 75cl bottle. Abv 15% Bottle condition, cap good, label good, wine level in neck Tasting Note 24 02 2024 93 Points Cork disintegrated, carefully
An excellent vintage for the Rhone

Musar corks can be problematic and the estate themselves suggest using prongs rather than a cork screw 2001 seems to be particularly susepatable to them breaking

After the French Revolution it passed to the Our Saluces family
