All R4 cameras are compatible with the Leica R Motor Winder. Only very early cameras are marked R4 MOT Electronic. The R4 was developed in collaboration with Minolta, like the R3. It incorporated selected Minolta XD11 electronics and body parts to deliver a more compact and lighter camera than the earlier R3. It
